Acrylic on panel

18x24 inches

I explore various patterns for their interesting volume effects. Dots and lines help me to describe the hidden geometry of nature, a thing that we see so much that we don’t recognize it anymore. Dots are also symbolizing the individual among many, the code in the machines, and the way we are more and more treated as data. Aren’t the gardens we create an allegory of the harmony we wish existed among us? Are we grown? In my paintings I often question our relationship to nature and the way we control it. I chose tulips as these flowers were the subject of a huge financial crisis in Holland in the 17th century.
