Abstract watercolor 50x40 inches on Arches paper
The watercolor is currently unframed, displayed on the second picture only to give an idea of its real size.
With these recent watercolors, I explore geometric patterns that I have been studying since one year. They give both a sense of space and a feeling of organic growth.
I have been dreaming of a mountain from where four rivers flowed, and it was gigantic. The painting is rather large in itself. I wanted to give an impression of space, immersion into the space. The small saxifrages on the bottom resonate into the folds of the painting, where no perspective fixes the gaze. Instead, echoes of a presence conflagrate in the distance.
