** wall of stone, wall of air **
Oil on paper, 18x24 inches.
These series of paintings were inspired by patterns that I found representative of nature, and my pictural work on them. The symmetry of natural patterns is sometimes similar to symmetries you find in buildings, an order similar to wall of stones, or crystals. The way we order stones, houses, even air in bubble wrap, may be less artificial than we believe. The natural separation between natural objects, which is called territory or else defined by their borders (such as the shyness cleft botanical concept), recalls me the space we need to blossom and breeze. I also call these paintings « take a breath ».
