Watercolor on Arches paper, 22x30 inches

Who says that winter is not full of colors? Even before the snow, an evening on the coast brought me all the light I needed for winter. While the opalescent water shimmered, the trees and the ground seemed to absorb pinks and blues.

In this painting as in many newests of mine, I use other tools than perspective in order to create a sensation of space. These tools are coming from geometric patterns that I have been studying since last year. Meanwhile, I'm also getting rid of tonal and colored traditional tricks of painters. I want to be really free from atmospheric perspective and blurs, that are traditional in watercolor.
